This jersey was part of that campaign, featuring the Oilers’ 30th Anniversary patch, a nice nod to three decades of Oilers hockey. The patch itself says it all: “Celebrating 30 Years of Oilers Hockey. Est. 1979.” It’s a little slice of team history stitched right onto the fabric.

Now, about that fabric… Design-wise, the Reebok Edge 1.0 jerseys don’t exactly scream “timeless classic.” Minimalist might be a polite way to put it. Gone were the traditional hem stripes, replaced by vertical piping that, well, didn’t do anyone any favors. And those sleeve stripes? They stopped short, almost like they gave up halfway through. Honestly, the players looked like they were skating around in hockey-themed pajamas. Functional? Sure. Fashion-forward? Not quite.

I picked up this jersey (along with three others) through a post in the Oilers Game Worn Jersey Facebook group. Shoutout to the community for helping fans like me snag pieces of hockey history. It’s not the flashiest jersey in my collection, but it tells a story—a story of Horcoff grinding it out in the tail end of a tough season. And for that, it earns its place on my rack.
